- Maintenance: For initial use, place some loose tea in the cast iron teapot and brew for approximately 10 minutes; discard the water and repeat the process 2-3 times until the water runs clear. For subsequent uses, empty any leftover water after each use and store the pot in a dry, well-ventilated area.
